ስለ እኛ!
ህዝብ “የነጻ” ሚዲያ ረሃብ አለበት፡፡ ፖለቲከኞችም ከድጋፍና ከሙገሳ ባለፈ መልኩ ግልጽ የሕዝብ ትችትና የባለሙያ አስተያየት ያስፈልጋቸዋል፡፡ በሁሉም አቅጣጫ ግን ክፍተት አለ – ይህ ክፍተት ደግሞ የመረጃ አፈና በሚካሄድባት ኢትዮጵያ ብቻ ሳይሆን ነጻነት አለበት በሚባልበት የውጪው ዓለምም በተደጋጋሚ ሲከሰት ይስተዋላል፡፡ ይህንን ክፍተት መሙላት ባይቻልም የበኩላችንን ማበርከት እንዳለብን በማመናችን በተለያዩ አገራት የምንገኝ ኢትዮጵያውያን ባለሙያዎች ጎልጉል የድረገጽ ጋዜጣ® ለመመስረት ወሰንን፡፡
እንደሚታወቀው ሁሉ ዕውቀት ኃይል ነው፤ መረጃ ደግሞ አንዱ የዕውቀት መሠረት ነው፡፡ በመሆኑም ጎልጉል የዜና ማሰራጫ ወይም የመረጃ ማስተላለፊያ ስራ መጀመሩን ይፋ ያደረገበት ዕለት የህዝብ ልሳን መሆናችንን አወጅን ማለት ነው። የህዝብ ንብረት ሆንን ማለት ነው። ሕዝብ ኃይል እንዲኖረው የምናገኘውን መረጃ ያለ መድልዖ ለሕዝብ ማሳወቅ አለብን ማለት ነው – ይህ ነው የሕዝብ ንብረት መሆን ማለት፡፡ ስለዚህ በህዝብ ንብረት ላይ የማዘዝ ስልጣን የለንም፡፡ ጎልጉልን አብረን እንምራው፡፡ አጀንዳችን ህዝብ ነውና ሁሉም በነጻነት ይሳተፍበት፡፡ በአመለካከት ነጻነት መከበር ላይ ካለን እምነት በመነሳት የተለያየ ሃሳቦች ላይ ገደብ አናደርግም።
“ከጎሰኝነት ይልቅ ለሰብአዊነት ቅድሚያ መስጠት” የሚለው ታላቅና ሁሉን ዓቀፍ የሆነው መርህ ስለሚገዛን ድረገጻችን በዚህ ዙሪያ ልዩ ትኩረት ይሰጣል። ይህ ማለት ግን በድረገጻችን የሚጻፈው ሁሉ የአንድን ድርጅት ወይም ተቋም ሃሳብ ያንጸባርቃል ማለት እንዳልሆነ ይታወቅልን ዘንድ እንወዳለን፡፡ ከላይ እንደጠቀስነው ጎልጉል የድረገጽ ጋዜጣ® የሕዝብ ነው!
በተጨማሪም ለፖለቲካና ለማህበራዊ ጉዳዮች፣ ለአንገብጋቢ ቀውሶች ትኩረት በመስጠት መተዛዘን እንዲሰፍን፣ የፖለቲካውና የፖለቲከኞች አለመጣጣም፣ የህዝብን እምነትና ፍላጎት አለመረዳት፣ አገራችንና ህዝቧን ለከፋ ችግር የዳረገበትን ዋና ጠባሳ በማሳየት ሁላችንንም ነጻ የሚያወጣንን መረጃ ለሕዝባችን በማስተላለፍ መረጃን ኃይል ወደሆነው እውቀት በማስተላለፍ የበኩላችንን እንሰራለን። ማንኛውንም ዓይነት አስተያየትና በጨዋነት እናስተናግዳለን። ጽሁፎቻችንም እንደአስፈላጊነቱ በአማርኛና በእንግሊዝኛ ይቀርባሉ፡፡ እኛ ይህን እንመስላለን።
About Us
We are a group of Ethiopian professionals, who seek to provide a diverse, balanced and expansive source of important news, opinions, studies and analyses on issues mostly pertinent to Ethiopia.
We believe the public seeks a “free” media where a broad spectrum of contributors are able to offer varied information, ideas and opinions, whether or not one agrees with them. We hold that the public will benefit from diverse views that bring new light to an issue, a region, a group or a viewpoint and will invite such contributions. In a pluralistic society, we should be aware of the needs, challenges and perspectives of others; even when it challenges our own critical analysis of facts, opinions, assumptions and conclusions.
In Ethiopia, opposing viewpoints are not tolerated, unflattering truth is hidden and critical analysis of actions, ideas or policies can bring punitive actions. Even in the Diaspora, where the potential for media freedom exists; censorship, competition, exclusion, isolation and sectarianism—ethnic, political, regional, religious and other—often limit what is available to the public. It has created a significant gap in our information coverage; coverage we urgently need in order to sharpen our perspectives, to bridge our major rifts and to create a new, stronger and healthier Ethiopia.
Though it is hard to fill such a huge gap easily, it is our intention to contribute our part to uncovering what is concealed, to reminding ourselves of what has been wrongly overlooked and to piercing the darkness of “informational starvation” with new light—“goolgule” – the Amharic word for investigation, exposure or the revelation of something necessary for change. If Ethiopia is going to change, information will be integral to it.
Our approach will affirm the inclusive and universal principles of “humanity before ethnicity” Our intent is to be the voice of and for the public—not only endorsing one’s own preferences—but also being open to publishing opinions with which we may disagree. We believe the people should be able to judge for themselves rather than blocking public access to information. We will give due consideration to social, legal, economic, political and other pertinent issues that are seriously affecting our highly diverse society, both here in the Diaspora and back at home. However, it should be noted that the news, views, opinions, etc that are posted on “goolgule” are not presented to promote principles of a certain organization or institution.
Goolgule: the Amharic Internet Newspaper (GAIN) will be presented mainly in Amharic but, as deemed necessary, we will share information in English as well.

ለጎልጉል የድረገጽ ጋዜጣ የመረጥነው መለያ ራሱኑ ስሙን ሲሆን በቃሉ መጨረሻ ላይ የምትገኘውን “ል” እግር ወደ ብዕር በመቀየር የኢትዮጵያ ሠንደቅ ዓላማ ኅብረ ቀለማትን ሲጽፍ ያሳያል፡፡ ብዕሩም ሆነ ጉልጎላው ስለ ኢትዮጵያ መሆኑን በቀላሉ ለማመላከት ነው፡፡
ዓላማ
የጎልጉል ዋና አላማ መረጃን ማመጣጠን ሲሆን፣ አሁን ባለው የመረጃ ፍሰት ውስጥ የሚታዩትን የድግግሞሽና የመመሳሰል አካሄድ በመቀየር ትኩስና ሚዛናዊ ዘገባ ማስተላለፍ ነው። በተለይም ሰዎች እምነታቸውንና ፍላጎታቸውን ያለ አንዳች ገደብ በጨዋነት/በውስጥ የዲሲፒሊን ደንባችን መሰረት/ እንዲያስተላልፉ ማድረግ ነው። ጎልጉል በተጓዳኝ ለሚጀመሩ የድምጽና የምስል መገናኛዎቻችን መሰረት የምንጥልበትም ነው።
Objectives
Our main objective will be to maintain a balance of information in the media world concerning Ethiopia. We will be avoiding repetitions, duplications and redundancy of information that is highly common in most of Ethiopians media circles now. We would also hold to the expectation of civility and integrity in all communications and that contributors would maintain the highest regard for truthful and respectful dialogue towards other individuals and groups at all times. We will also be broadcasting information through audio and video means.

Goal
Our main goal is to provide a diverse voice of news, information, opinions and analysis, from and to the public, in regards to important issues pertaining to Ethiopia. We strongly affirm the public’s right to information and free speech as we believe both are critically important parts of a free society and vital in building a healthy society.

የድርጅቶችና የማንኛውም ግለሰብ ነጻ ሃሳብ የሚስተናገድበት፤ የሚላኩልን ጽሁፎች ያለአንዳች መድልዖ በዚህ ዓምድ ሥር ይዘገባሉ፡፡ በተለይ እስካልተጠቀሰ ድረስ በዚህ ዓምድ ሥር የሚቀርቡት ጽሁፎች የጎልጉል የድረገጽ ጋዜጣ® አቋም አይደለም፡፡
መዝናኛ፣ ገጠመኞች፣ ስነ ግጥም፣ አንደበት፣ ድንቃድንቅ…. ይከሸኑበታል፤
ወደፊት እንዳስፈላጊነቱ አዳዲስ ዓምዶች ሊከፈቱ፤ የተከፈቱ ዓምዶች ደግሞ ሊዘጉ ይችላል፡፡
